At Jeelek Ltd, we recently had the pleasure of project-managing a remarkable project: the complete refurbishment of a magnificent three-storey, four-bedroom, three-bath Victorian townhouse on the beautiful Isle of Wight

Collaborating closely with our client, we embarked on a journey to transform their vision into reality, creating their dream home from the ground up. Through careful planning and the expertise of our trusted tradespeople, we undertook extensive renovations, including rewiring, plumbing, and revitalizing the entire property. We are proud to share the story of this incredible transformation and express our gratitude to the skilled professionals who helped us bring this project to life.

Stripping It Down to the Bare Bones:

To lay the foundation for our client's dream home, we began by stripping the aging and tired property back to its bare bones. This involved removing the existing lathe and plaster, giving us a clean slate to work with. Our dedicated team meticulously demolished walls, carefully removing any damaged materials and preparing the space for a fresh start.

Renewing the Infrastructure:

Ensuring the property was equipped with modern amenities, we replaced all the wiring and installed new plumbing throughout the townhouse. This vital step not only enhanced the safety and efficiency of the home but also provided the foundation for future improvements. By paying meticulous attention to detail during the installation process, we aimed to exceed our client's expectations in terms of functionality and reliability.

Crafting New Walls and Ceilings:

With the infrastructure in place, we turned our attention to constructing new walls and ceilings. Drawing inspiration from the original Victorian aesthetic, we meticulously built sturdy, high-quality partitions that would stand the test of time. Our skilled tradespeople worked diligently to create smooth surfaces, ensuring a flawless canvas for the subsequent phases of the project.

Reviving the Art of Plastering and Cornices:

To restore the grandeur of this Victorian townhouse, we enlisted the expertise of Pat Walsh, a plasterer renowned for his exceptional craftsmanship. With care and precision, Pat meticulously applied fresh plaster to the newly constructed and refurbished walls, breathing life into each room. Additionally, he skillfully crafted and installed new plastered cornices, seamlessly blending the traditional with the contemporary.

Strengthening the Foundation:

Recognizing the importance of a solid foundation, we removed the existing floorboards and addressed any issues with the joists. Our team worked diligently to repair and level the joists, ensuring they were structurally sound. This crucial step laid the groundwork for the installation of new flooring that would both enhance the aesthetic appeal and provide lasting durability.

A Collaborative Effort:

For Jeelek to successfully manage a project of this magnitude, we rely heavily on a team of dedicated professionals, each bringing their expertise to the table. In addition to project-managing this refurbishment, we took care of renewing the wiring in the property, bringing the electrical installation to modern standards, ensuring safety and reliability.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to A&B Plumbing & Heating for their invaluable contributions in ensuring the property was equipped with efficient and reliable plumbing systems.

Island Carpentry & Tim Dove delivered outstanding joinery works, showcasing their skill and craftsmanship throughout the refurbishment.

Dave Schaffer's meticulous attention to detail transformed the property with his expert decorating skills.

Sandown Carpets provided luxurious flooring solutions, elevating the overall ambiance of the home and, lastly, Paul Johnson's meticulous tiling work added an exquisite finishing touch to various areas within the property.

In addition to the structural and interior upgrades, we recognized the importance of modern technology in today's homes. Jeelek Ltd, Ecassa UK Ltd, and Wight Aerials collaborated to install state-of-the-art security and entertainment systems.

A full intruder alarm and CCTV system were seamlessly integrated, ensuring the safety and peace of mind for our client. A satellite TV distribution network was meticulously set up, ensuring that every room in the house could enjoy entertainment at its best. To guarantee seamless connectivity, a ceiling-mounted WiFi distribution mesh was implemented, providing WiFi coverage to all floors.

Project complete!

Jeelek Ltd's recent refurbishment of a Victorian townhouse on the Isle of Wight stands as a testament to the transformative power of collaboration and craftsmanship.

Through close collaboration with our client and the unwavering dedication of our skilled tradespeople, we turned an aging and tired property into a stunning, dream home. From rewiring and plumbing to new walls, ceilings, and plastering work, every detail was meticulously crafted to create a space that harmoniously blends Victorian elegance with contemporary comfort.

We are grateful for the contributions of our trusted trades and take immense pride in witnessing the joy and satisfaction of our client as their vision becomes a reality.
