Blending natural materials, modern lighting and careful collaboration to create a warm, high-end finish.

TL;DR

  • Simple lighting scheme, executed to a high standard
  • Feature travertine wall lights add warmth and luxury
  • Illuminated mirror provides practical, soft task lighting
  • Close collaboration with designer and trades ensured a cohesive finish
  • Energy-efficient LED lighting throughout

The Project

We recently completed a lighting installation as part of an en-suite renovation in Bonchurch — a great example of how the right lighting can completely change the feel of a room.

From the outset, we worked closely with the interior designer and other trades on site. That coordination is key on projects like this, ensuring everything from positioning to final finishes aligns with the overall vision.
We carry out a wide range of electrical work across the Island, including bathroom lighting installations — you can find out more on our

Simple Scheme, Strong Impact

The lighting layout itself is relatively straightforward:

  • LED downlights for general illumination
  • An illuminated mirror for everyday use
  • Feature wall lights to introduce warmth and character

It’s not about overcomplicating things — it’s about getting the balance right.

Feature Lighting That Makes the Difference

The travertine wall lights are what really lift this space. They give off a soft, warm glow that instantly makes the room feel more relaxed and inviting.

Using natural materials like stone helps avoid that overly clinical bathroom feel. Instead, it brings texture and warmth, tying in nicely with the timber worktop and stone basin.

Positioned either side of the mirror, they also frame the vanity area perfectly — both practical and a strong design feature.

Modern Detail with Everyday Function

The illuminated mirror adds a clean, modern contrast. It provides even, shadow-free lighting for daily routines, while the soft halo effect enhances the overall ambience.

Combined with the wall lights, it creates a layered lighting scheme that works just as well in the evening as it does in the morning.

The Result

This en-suite now feels warm, considered and genuinely luxurious — without needing an overly complex setup.

It’s a good reminder that with the right fittings, careful planning and proper installation, lighting can completely transform a space.

If you’re planning a bathroom renovation or looking to upgrade your lighting, it’s always worth considering how feature lighting can elevate the final result.
